Make a hiking plan

Before you go on a hike, you should fill out a Hiking Plan and leave it with a responsible person.

It is important that the person knows when you are expected to be back, and when they should call 911 to report you overdue.

Without good information about a person’s plan, it can be challenging for Search and Rescue to know where to start looking for missing or overdue hikers.
