The Upper Ojai Search and Rescue team and the Ventura County Sheriff's office work closely with the Ventura County Fire Department to ensure that the residents of our county are properly notified in the event of a local wildland fire. We are dispatched by the Sheriff's Department by a request of the VCFD or the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in Ventura. The Search and Rescue team's main responsibility to to assist in the notification and warning of a local wild land event.

In the event of a wildland fire we uses these pages on our site to ensure we are aware of the current weather and fire situations. Our command post has internet connectivity as well as our personal Tiros and Blackberry devices. This technology allows us to access this information remotely from the field. You are welcome to browse these pages and bookmark them if you are interested.

ECCDA Forecast Summaries are issued no later than 945 a.m. and 400 p.m. daily during high fire season and are not updated at other times and during low season are issued no later than 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
